I am very much looking forward to this coming September. Here’s why:
We are starting the month off right with the Green Day concert at Shoreline amphitheater in Mountain View on September 4th. I bought lawn tickets while at the BFD festival in June and I thought at the time I had gotten a great deal because I didn’t have to pay any extra charges aside from the ticket prices. Green Day is one of Billy’s favorite bands ever, and this will be the first time I have seen them live. The opening act will be AFI, another fantastic band that I cannot wait to see live. We have lawn seats, so it’s not the best, but totally worth dealing with a not so great seat to see two awesome bands.
We are making the middle of the month something special when we attend the Honda Civic Tour on September 17th at the HP Pavilion in San Jose. We will be seeing Paramore, Tegan and Sarah, and New Found Glory. I am bouncing in my seat thinking about this concert, and just. can’t. wait. Paramore is awesome and a favorite of mine from the last couple of years, and New Found Glory has been a favorite since high school, and is still on my iPod, played regularly. I follow both NFG and Paramore, as well as Hayley Williams on twitter, and have been dying for this concert, it will be amazing, have no fear.
We finish the month off right because I managed to purchase pre-sale tickets to see Jimmy Eat World at the Warfield in San Francisco on September 30th. I totally guessed the promo code, so I was able to get tickets before they went on sale to the general public. They will be playing with Civil Twilight and We Were Promised Jetpacks, which I haven’t heard much from. After seeing all of the charges that got tacked on to the ticket prices, now I KNOW I got a great deal with the Green Day tickets! For the 4 tickets I got, I had to pay $57.05 in facility, convenience and order processing fees, which is much more than the actual ticket price of $34.50! Crazy! Aside from the bitter taste the fees left with me, I am so excited to be seeing Jimmy Eat World again! They are one of my favorite bands, and I have only seen them once, even though I have held tickets to see them 3 times before. I was not able to go to one of the concerts because I had to work, and the other concert we arrived late, couldn’t find parking, and didn’t feel safe parking far from the venue, so we left. Lame, I know, but true. This time, I won’t be leaving, I will make sure to get to the Warfield on time, find safe parking, and have myself a great time.
